Associate Project Manager

 

Klosh Group is seeking an associate project manager to enhance our project management team. A successful candidate will have project coordination and administrative experience, excellent time management and organization skills, and be detail-oriented. You will assist in the timely delivery of project deliverables required by clients and other team members, aiding in an efficiently run project. 

In this role, you will assist in the planning and executing of project tasks and deliverables, track and report on project progress, and work with project stakeholders. As an integral team member, you must be personable, professional, have good written and verbal communications skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Project Manager with the following activities:

    • Managing day-to-day onsite project construction issues

    • Actively monitoring and reporting on budget, schedule, operational needs, processes, client needs, quality control requirements, and reporting team members to keep stakeholders informed

    • Analyzing project needs and requirements to proactively identify issues before they arise

    • Review, understand, and manage procedures for handling changes to the contract documents, monthly valuations, drawing submissions, change orders, substitutions, and highlight risks where applicable

    • Facilitate communications on the project plan, change requests, risks and status with the project team including the owner, construction contractor, design team, and project stakeholders

    • Compiling, drafting and tracking project contracts, contract change documents, levels of effort (LOEs), and review invoices for completeness

    • Preparing meeting agendas and lead meetings as necessary

  • Owning the creation, management and accuracy of daily project document and information including, but not limited to:

    • Populate project anticipated cost reports (ACRs) and ensure the invoice tracker is up to date, highlighting report anomalies to appropriate stakeholders and recommending course corrections when applicable

    • Maintain project documentation, including, but not limited to project status, meetings, and correspondence to properly communicate across project stakeholders

    • Project schedule progress via dashboards and reports

    • Monitor project sustainability objectives

  • Proactively monitoring construction productivity, schedule performance, and investigating reasons for less than satisfactory performance. 

  • Identify alternative solutions, conclusions, cost impacts or approaches to problems detailing strengths and weaknesses of each. 

  • Anticipate in-person onsite project visits throughout the lifecycle of each project.

  • Drafting, tracking, and monitoring the procurement processes for consultants and owner purchased items.

  • Adherence to company safety standards and promoting safety culture in work.

Requirements

You bring one of the following combinations of experience to this role:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with some knowledge of construction processes

  • Strong construction process knowledge with some project management skills

  • A mid-level knowledge of both these areas and a desire to learn and grow. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of project management principles, processes and techniques. 

  • Knowledge of principles, processes, methods, and techniques of construction, and design contracting for construction is a plus, but not required. 

  • Experience with project management software (such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, eBuilder, Vantagepoint, Prolog, Procore, Viewpoint), as well as proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam or Adobe Product Suite required.   

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to varied target audiences and validate information is understood by all.  

  • Strong active listening skills  

  • Solid reading comprehension skills of construction-related documents. 

  • Solid problem-solving ability and capable of managing several tasks concurrently. 

  • General knowledge or understanding of materials, methods, techniques, and the tools and trades involved in the construction industry.

  • Base pay range for this position is $67,000-86,000
